"February, 2010: Government orders two PV power plants: Portuguese project planner and module manufacturer Martifer Solar has signed an agreement with Cape Verde's finance minister.
According to the agreement, Martifer will build two PV power plants with a total power of 7.5 MW for the island nation off the coast of West Africa, handing over turnkey systems. The systems are estimated to cost around €30 million ($43.1 million). 5 MW are to be built in the capital of Praia, and 2.5 MW on the island of Sal. Martifer says the systems will allow the African country to cover about 4 percent of its electricity demand."
